Before You Say Yes is a free discernment and safety guide for anyone considering ayahuasca or another psychedelic ceremony. It won't tell you what to decide. It will help you decide well.
Maybe it started with a friend who came back changed. A podcast. A story you couldn't stop thinking about. Somewhere along the way, a quiet question opened in you: is this for me?
Here's the problem. Most of what you'll find when you search that question was written by someone with a retreat to fill. The information might be good. But the incentive underneath it is to get you to a yes.
This guide has no retreat behind it. I don't run ceremonies, I don't sell retreats, and I don't earn anything when you say yes. I'm a coach who helps people prepare for and integrate these experiences, which means I've sat with many people on both sides of this decision. Some said yes and were glad. Some said not yet and were just as glad.
If your honest answer turns out to be not yet, that's not a failure. That's discernment working.
The guide walks you through three questions:
Is this the right path for me? Is it the right path for me right now? And how do I walk it safely, and with intention?
Part One is six honest questions to sit with before you decide anything, including the ones most people skip: what you're hoping this will fix, what you're afraid of, and what "not yet" would actually look like.
Part Two is for those leaning toward yes: ten questions to ask any facilitator before you commit, the red flags that should stop you, and the green flags worth trusting.
The guide speaks to ceremony broadly, not one medicine narrowly. Whether you're considering ayahuasca, psilocybin, San Pedro, ketamine, 5-MeO-DMT / Bufo, MDMA, or LSD, the questions inside are the same questions.
Enter your email in the form below and I'll send it to you. You'll also receive a short series of emails in the weeks that follow, written to accompany your discernment, and after that an occasional note from me, roughly monthly. Unsubscribe anytime with one click. No pressure lives here.
*Note: You'll get a confirmation email first. Click it and the guide is on its way.
I'm a coach, not a therapist or a medical provider. This guide isn't medical advice, it doesn't recommend facilitators, and it won't tell you where to find medicine or how to take it. What it offers is a clear, unhurried way to think about one of the more consequential decisions you may ever make.
Warmly,
Kris Russell, PCC
Psychedelic preparation and integration coach
Kris Russell PCC, works with people who are preparing for a profound psychedelic experience, integrating one, or ready to do something lasting with what they learned.
His work blends somatic coaching, mindfulness practices, parts work, and practical behavior change to help clients move from insight to embodiment, from knowing what needs to change to actually living differently.
His clients often say, "I've never said that out loud to anyone before."
And that's exactly the point.
